Master D.J. Tony Soul takes the International Scene by Storm Master D.J. Tony Soul truly does have house music mastered. With a resume like his, there is no doubt about it. His U.S. career has been travelling down a prominent road as a mix show D.J. on several radio stations including WQUE, WYLD (New Orleans), and WPWR (NYC). He also was the head resident D.J. at Naomi Campbell’s infamous Fashion Café. He has also played beside greats such as Quest Love, Biz Markie, D.J. Premier and the X-Ecutioners . And, now he has begun to share his incomparable talent on an international level. Following the twinge in his gut to expand his fan base, he picked up his life and moved to Taipei. It turns out Master D.J. Tony Soul’s hunch was right, and it wasn’t long before he was being booked at every hotspot in the city. With his unparalleled style now breaking ground on a new continent, he quickly garnered the attention of the European market as well. On any given day, you could find him bouncing from, not only club to club in Taiwan (including the Opus Bar, the Brickyard and the Luxy; just to name a few), but also hopping a flight to rock the Rotterdam in Amsterdam or the Coffee House in Geneva Switzerland. His warm reception in Taiwan and Western Europe has not only brought his talent to the international forefront, he has also gained valuable experience. “Gigging in Taiwan has given me the opportunity to get a better feel for crowds on an international level. It has shown me how much more open crowds are to listening to various forms of music outside of the typical American Top 40 stuff”, says Master D.J. Tony Soul. The impact of his increasing popularity is unmistakable to this humble New York native. “It has taken my name to a new level. Playing internationally gives you a good look. Although no crowd is tougher than back home in the States; it’s given me a sense of freedom that can’t be ignored”. Master D.J. Tony Soul is not stopping there. With his sights set firmly on the jewel of Asia, Hong Kong, he is ready to take another step and expand his name and fan base even further. There is no doubt that he will find just as much, although probably even more, success when he takes on Hong Kong. Strategically he knows what he is doing, “There is a good scene there, but it hasn’t been tapped for its real potential. I say that with the utmost respect to the cats there doing their thing, but I feel I have the ability to take it to the next level. That is where I belong. I see myself doing nothing less than becoming the most sought after D.J. for House Music in that region”. For most house music D.J.’s, this would be a very ambitious statement. But, when you have talent like Master D.J. Tony Soul, this is what is bound to happen for him in Hong Kong. However, before returning to Asia, he will be touring Europe to win over more hearts of house music. There are few artists who have the genius musical caliber tempered by a humble outlook on life and success. This classic combination will no doubt keep Master D.J. Tony Soul in high demand, wherever his musical passport takes him.
